Iran’s Saeid Marouf joins Emma Villas Siena
TEHRAN – Iran international setter Saeid Marouf has joined Italian volleyball club Emma Villas Siena.
Iran captain has signed a two-year contract with Emma Villas Siena.
The contract’s details have not been revealed.
Emma Villas Siena is heading by Juan Manuel Cichello, who has already worked as Iran national volleyball team assistant.
Marouf was named best setter at the 2014 World League and 2008, 2012 and 2016 Olympic qualifying tournaments, as well as most valuable player at the 2013 Asian Championship.
He participated in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Marouf joined Russian Super League champions Zenit Kazan on a one-year contract in 2014 worth $1 million, making him one of the world's highest-paid volleyball players of the year.
